As cycle-tourists, staying at Hotel Alstor was a luxurious change from hostels and campgrounds. The staff were accommodating, providing cycle storage and helpful advice. The included breakfast was abundant, eliminating the need for lunch. The spacious room ensured a quiet and restful sleep for our 4-night stay. The hotel's location near a beautiful lake allowed for refreshing morning walks, and the short walk to the bus stop provided easy access to the city center. The value for the price was exceptional, especially considering the cost of some campgrounds along our journey.
Would recommend this hotel.

Nice location. Small and cozy hotel. Plants climbing up the outer walls - nice, reminds of some German "historic hotels".
The room was cold when I arrived, and it took some hours to heat it up. It would be better if the heater was had been running awhile before my arrival.

I must say I found this hotel extremely bad, both concerning service (especially the breakfast staff). and the room which was very cold - and the bath lacked ventilation. The shower was from the seventies. Over all a hotel I will never return to.

The hotel had a good location, near to public transport and the city center. the free Wi-Fi was very useful and I appreciated the availability of tea and coffee making facilities in my room. the staff were polite and helpful.
The room was outdated and needed some updating. the bathroom was not clean enough and there was no shower gel provided.

It is good value for the money when you compare it to the other hotels in that area. The breakfast in the morning is first class. They do have smoking rooms
They only serve an evening meal Monday to Thursday and the menu is limited. The toilet and shower do not have underfloor heating and is very cold in the winter.

During our romantic escape, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery that surrounded the hotel, as well as the relaxing ambiance. The location was perfect for us, as it was close to the city center and offered easy access to transportation. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast that was served every morning, including freshly baked pastries and a variety of local specialties.
We were disappointed by the lack of amenities provided in our room. We had to ask for a hairdryer and iron from the front desk, which seemed inconvenient. Additionally, the room was a bit small and lacked some basic furnishings, which made it difficult to relax at times. However, overall, we had a great experience and would recommend this hotel to others.

The hotel is located near a beautiful park and lake area, providing a peaceful atmosphere. the room is spacious and the desk is useful for working. the staff is responsive and the breakfast spread is good. the hotel also has a swimming pool and there are plenty of outlets for your electrical devices.
The hotel could use some updates as the lower floor needs renovation.

Staff and the hotel itself. I is quite nice, However, see suggestion under "didn't like" section.
It is too far from the centre of Stavanger so it everyone to travel together to go out to dinner. No real options as far as, "Ill just go down and grab a sandwich and work at the hotel...". If it was about 2 km closer, I would give it 10 Stars. As it is, next trip, while I would love staying there, I probably won't. The thing that would make all the difference in the world for me woiuld be if the hotel had a shuttle every half hour into town...even every hour would suffice. That way people on business aren't by their traveling companion's preferences, etc. If I hear this is the case before I return (in early May) I will probably stay with you. If not, I will use one of the town hotels. Note, The stay will be about 10 nights. Thanks. Marv
